Since years "Gourmet Menü-Service" has been using the nutrient calculation software EWP of dato Denkwerkzeuge. Currently a new program is being implemented, which aims at fulfilling the high requirements of community catering. Dato Denkwerkzeuge developed custom-made solutions for our company, e.g. a nutrient calculation software program (with allergy database) integrated in our system, which allows to show product and allergy data rapidly and easily. Due to his experience and know-how we gained a lot from Mr. Maierhofer, who highly contributed to the success of the project by using his knowledge of the food industry. The cooperation with dato Denkwerkzeuge has always been excellent.

The Robert Koch Institute and the former Institute of Epidemiology and Social Medicine of the Federal Office of Public Health have been cooperating with dato Denkwerkzeuge in several projects since 1989. We especially appreciate Mr. Maierhofer's capability to cooperate in terms of content, since he is highly experienced in working with nutritional data and in collecting nutritional statistics in addition to his technical skills of software programming. For this reason many creative ideas of Mr. Maierhofer have been included in the program. We especially valued the extremely reliable work of the company dato Denkwerkzeuge, since - despite of the high time pressure - the programs always were implemented in time.

Within two years of work the multi-disciplinary research project„dietary customs, eating and drinking cultures in Austria“came into being at the Institute of Cultural Studies. Dietary records were encoded by using the nutrient calculation software EWP of the company dato Denkwerkzeuge. We highly valued the extremely pleasant cooperation with Mr. Maierhofer, his technical competence and his detailed know-how of the BLS (The German Food Code and Nutrient Database). His large experience in the technical program implementation of nutritional statistics and evaluations was especially helpful in our cooperation. This scientific pioneer work would never have been possible without his technical competence.
Mag. Hanni Rützler, project group dietary culture, Institute of Cultural Studies
The "Kuratorium Wiener Pensionisten-Wohnhäuser" (Board of Trustees of the Viennese Pensioners' Residential Buildings) has been cooperating with dato since 1992.
The cooking software developed for us consists of meal planning, menu choice for staff and customers, resource planning (goods purchasing, storekeeping, sales input from production) and reporting. It is in operation in 31 buildings of our company. After a two-year project implementation phase, the original single-user DOS-program was successfully migrated to Windows XP (Microsoft SQL database server) with multi-user capabilities according to schedule end of 2003, taking into consideration new requirements.
We appreciate Mr. Maierhofer's technical competence and his valuable cooperation.
Walter Heim, head of department TD-IS, Kuratorium Wiener Pensionistenwohnhäuser
My thesis "The Impact of the Social Marketing Campaign "5x am Tag" on the Fruit and Vegetable Consumption of the Austrian Population" could never have been successfully completed without the Nutritional Scientific Program (EWP) of dato Denkwerkzeuge. Using the EWP about 4,000 24-h-recalls were evaluated for my thesis in total, in order to measure the fruit and vegetable consumption before and after a specific advertising campaign. This extraordinarily large amount of questionnaires could be evaluated within the required short period of time only by relying on the large choice of food items and food groups, as well as the extremely user-friendly handling of the EWP.
My special thanks go to Mr. Maierhofer, dato Denkwerkzeuge, for making the EWP-program available to me and thus enabling me to evaluate the 24-h-recalls for my thesis.
