How to calculate recipes
Our Online Recipe Calculation Tool provides access to several thousand food items of the German Food Database BLS and the Austrian OENWT.
Enter the designation of the ingredient you are looking for (or at least a part of it) and click ‘Search’. Double-click or click the ‘Add’ button to add the ingredient to your recipe. Enter the quantity and unit of the ingredient. Under ‘Details’, you can also enter the preparation loss and the number of portions. The preparation loss is the weight loss caused by the preparation (because water evaporates).
You will find the results of the calculation under ‘Calculation’. You can save the entire recipe, including ingredients, as an HTML or XLS file, locally on your computer, and load it again later for further processing.
